Day 1:

Training begins!

This Tuesday, 7/16, was the first day of my 18 week marathon training program. The schedule calls for a 3 mile run, which is an approachable distance.

The biggest challenge was the fact that there was a high in the 90s! I ran along the boardwalk in Coney Island/ Brighton Beach after the sun went down, but I was soon so hot that I had to keep stopping to cool off at the watering stations.


Nevertheless, I ran the 3 miles. It was a slow pace at 12:26/mile. Next up, 5 miles is scheduled for 7/17.I feel confident about the run and not at all sore or tired, but the temperature has me worried. 

Training compliance to date: 100%
